Graduation Day!

Feb 27, 2016 graduation day of my students.

A Beautiful Letter from a DO Student

What more a teacher could want? This letter made my day today.

Dr Shahin Pourgol, MBA, DC, DO, PhD
NAO & NUMSS professor

Thank you very much, Dr. Pourgol, truly. I sincerely appreciate all your advice and your work to give us the best means to improve our odds to succeed in this new path. Your speech at graduation ceremony was very inspiring. As you said, you will always be part of the change in our lives, an important part, let me complete, and I will always be grateful to you for all the knowledge that you have transferred to us but, most of all, for your devotion as a teacher and your engagement to your students to make successful people of us. Words are not enough. Thank you.

Revolutionizing the Profession of Osteopathy

I am working simultaneously on 4 projects that once done and approved by the governments of USA and Canada would revolutionize the profession of osteopathy in North America.

These days I cannot get more than a couple of hours of sleep as I am so excited to wake up each day and work on these projects!

Does your job wake you up? Are you so excited about your job that you cannot wait to get up? Are you passionate enough about what you do?

I always teach my students: When your passion becomes your profession, success follow.

Osteopathy Education in Canada

There are currently a number of schools of osteopathy in Canada offering educational programs in European style osteopathy (aka manual osteopathy, no surgery, no medications).

There are only two schools offering osteopathy programs in Canada on full time basis. National Academy of Osteopathy offers a 12 months (260 days) full time diploma in osteopathic manual practice (DOMP) program through online as well as on-campus program. The only 4 year (640 days) full time osteopathic education in Canada is offered as a DO (doctor of osteopathy) program by Spain based National University of Medical Sciences (online or on-campus).

There is no other 3, 4 or 5 years full time osteopathy program in Canada. All other osteopathic colleges offer programs that are part time but take 3, 4 or 5 years to be completed.

For example the number of teaching days of the 4 and 5 years part time osteopathy programs offered by some colleges in Ontario is approximately 200 days. Another college that offers a 3 year program in osteopathy has total teaching days of only 36 days.

NAO and NUMSS offer the longest, most detailed osteopathy programs in Canada. They also teach most techniques than any other school in Canada.

To receive our information package on how you can become a manual osteopath send an email to admissions@nationalacademyofosteopathy.com or admissions@numss.com.

My New Assistant

We just hired manual osteopath, Nicholas Zankai (one of my students at National Academy of Osteopathy) as my new teaching assistant. Nick will help me in the technique class.

Nick did such a great job that National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) also gave him a full scholarship to study the doctor of osteopathy (DO) program.

NUMSS Florida Trip

I was in Florida, USA for two weeks, trying to get National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) registered there.

I had also travelled to a number of cities chosen by our real estate team, looking at different locations for NUMSS campus; including Miami, Naples, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Fort Myers, Kissimmee, Tampa, and so on.

I wish to thank Alex who was nice enough to lend me his beautiful brand new Mercedes while I was in Florida. It was a great car with a Satellite radio. Listening to Frank Sinatra made the long drives from city to city so enjoyable!
